A Word Of Advice
Don’t fall for pushy salespeople that will utilize the “Bait & Switch” and will charge you a premium for “rare” gold coins…unless you are looking to lose half of your investment.

Birch Gold Group Review
Birch Gold Group is based in Burbank, CA. Overall, this company has a great reputation, and solid customer reviews. They have perfect ratings from the Better Business Bureau, Business Consumer Alliance, and TrustLink. Birch Gold prides itself in superb customer satisfaction.
When I called Birch Gold the first time, they were above and beyond, and answered every single question I had cleanly and directly. I liked that. However, a few things did concern me, such as their lack of established reputation in comparison to other longer lasting companies.
My Personal Opinion About Birch Gold Group
Even though Birch Gold was a pleasure to talk with, and their rankings and ratings are off the charts, bottom line is that what worried me was the great lack of information available on the company.
It’s almost a shame, as they do have the “perfect” case to prove that they are indeed the best choice. But, perfect ratings and a few reviews from clients only go so far in my mind. I don’t want to take any risks with money. So even though they have AAA ratings and 5 star customer rave reviews, I decided to pass.
Here is more detail on Birch Gold Group.
I Liked These Things
– Perfect score with TrustLink
– An A+ with the BBB and an AAA score with the BCA
– Great customer service
– They are knowledgeable (trust me, I’ve talked to some that aren’t!)
I Did Not Like These Things
– A stunning lack of information on the Company
– No real feel for who’s behind the Company’s decisions or leadership
Reviews, Ratings, Complaints, and Scams
Better Business Bureau
Birch Gold Group has an A+ score with the Better Business Bureau.
Birch has been accredited with the BBB since November, 2011.
They have an absolutely clean record with no complaints.
Business Consumer Alliance
The BCA has given Birch Gold Group a perfect AAA score.
Zero complaints from the Business Consumer Alliance.
Old comments on the BCA site suggest that Birch Gold was able to resolve issues and problems with clients and remove the disputes. Some comments also state that Birch gave clients partial refunds in order to resolve.
Another perfect score for Birch Gold from one of the top ranking entities.
TrustLink has given Birch Gold Group a 5 star.
27 positive reviews from clients.
Other Reputable Review Sources
Birch Gold Group has a clean record with the RipOff Report Page. The Company has been verified and given accolades. On the downside, I have always suspected (this may be mere speculation) that the RipOff Report website does not have fully partial reviews.
5 stars with one positive review for Birch Gold Group on Yelp.
The reviewer secured a 401K Gold Rollover (I can empathize with her story) and was incredibly satisfied.
Another 5 star rating for Birch Gold.
A total of 7 reviewers, all of which were very satisfied, and specially gave mention to the great customer service (I agree – at least via phone).
Birch Gold Group’s Positives
Birch Gold’s strength appears to be their exceptional service, and the fact that their business seems to be (for what I can tell from my interaction with them and reviews I’ve read) extremely well grounded in their integrity and ethics.
Customers rave about a great transition and easy transfer of their IRA and 401K into gold, and Birch Gold’s ability to easily take them through every step of the process. I like this very much, as it specially one of the things I do look for the most, and a pet peeve if I don’t see it there.
Birch Gold Group’s Negatives
Birch is not TRUSTe verified, Norton secured, nor does it have an ICTA membership.
They also do not accept IRA applications digitally, which may mean longer processing times.
Information on Birch Gold Group’s Fees and Minimums
Birch Gold charges a $160 (recurring) annual storage fee – this is for a Gold IRA. A storage fee is charged to keep a client’s gold safely stored in a Federally approved location. Birch Gold’s third party approved storage is the Delaware Depository.
Unfortunately, their minimum investment amount is $10,000. This may not sound like a whole lot if you are in your 60s (as myself) and looking for the best place to secure your retirement savings. But for some other folk it may be a bit expensive compared to other gold custodians’ choices and options.
Birch Gold claims to complete the gold IRA transfer in 7 days. And they do charge a $90 setup fee (some companies waive this).
Why I Did Not Choose Birch Gold Group
On paper, Birch Gold looks perfect. Great ratings, fantastic rankings, and outstanding customer reviews. In fact, I could not find a single bad review or negative comment about this Company.
Call me overly cautious, but this actually worries me a bit. When a Company looks too perfect and at the same time there is insufficient real information about it, nor do we have a clear picture of who the main Man is behind the operation, my mind starts to run.
To be clear, and to repeat, Birch Gold Group is an outstanding Gold Company. And believe me, compared to other ones I’ve called (which were a real piece of work) they are in my top 10.
I’d love to hear more about this up and coming Gold IRA Company, so if you happen to decide to do business with them, please do shoot me a quick email with your experience, and I’ll post it here.
What Company Did I Choose?
For the reasons above, I decided to not choose Birch Gold.
Instead, I decided to work with this other company.
I wrote 3 pages on all the reasons on why I decided to choose this other particular company.
In a nutshell:
They specialize in gold IRAs, they have a non-pushy sales staff, the lowest fees, the fastest processing and shipping times, segregated storage (this is a big reason), and the best (and also the most) consumer reviews.
